This is the best forum to post up questions you may have

ISN'T THE CONTRACT SYSTEM A BIT TOO COMPLICATED?

--It seems more complicated than it really is. In fact, in the first season all players will fall two contracts: a Standard Two-Year Contract or a one-year Free Agent Contract. Any player you draft in the auction draft is automatically signed to the Standard Two Year Contract. At the end of the season when you declare keepers, a player under the two-year contract is obligated to play another season without a salary increase. The player's salary is the amount you bid for him in the auction draft.

Any player not drafted in the auction draft is considered a free agent. A free agent is signed to a one-year, Free Agent Contract and his salary is $1. When you declare keepers at the end of the season, you may re-sign the free agents to One Year Extensions, but you must raise their salaries from $1 to $7. At the end of their One Year Extensions, they must be released.

Note: If you release a player you drafted in the auction and he falls to the free agent market, his two-year contract is broken and he can only be signed to a one-year Free Agent Contract.

If this still sounds a bit too complicated, don't worry. Your players' contract statuses will be posted on the Legends League forum/website under "Contracts and Salaries."

IS THIS FORUM THE HOST SITE FOR THE LEAGUE?

--Nope. This forum is simply being used to get The Legends League organized. Once ESPN kicks off its 2010 season, league operations will shift there. This site will be maintained however, to provide a reference for player salaries and contracts.

DO I HAVE TO MAINTAIN A $260 SALARY CAP

--No. You have a $260 budget to spend in the auction draft and it must be maintained until opening day of the season. Once the season begins, the salary cap is removed to encourage trading.

WHAT IS THE "COMMISSIONER'S CHALLENGE"?

The Commissioner's Challenge is a series of side contests held throughout the calendar year with a champion to be named at the end of The Legends League season. Owner participation is voluntary and not required. Owners will be awarded points for each contest and the owner with the most points at the end of the season receives a prize plus five bonus dollars toward next year's auction draft.

What kind of contests will be held? Contests will involve baseball stats, streaks, players and head to head clashes between owners. If all owners are in place before New Year's Day, the first Commissioners Challenge will be held to coincide with the Hall of Fame announcement on January 6th!
