Arbitration Negotiations and Salary Cap Adjustments
January 16th - 31st
-Owners must either agree to the three-dollar arbitration increases requested by players during the arbitration filings or reject the requests. If an owner rejects a request, the player must either be dropped or taken to arbitration hearings to be conducted February 1st - 15th
Owners may also use this time to get their rosters under the salary cap by dropping players if needed. It is not mandatory to have rosters under the salary cap at this time, but to participate in the arbitration bidding process, owners must be under the salary cap. Any players dropped at this time go into the 2011 Free Agent Auction to be held in March.
